New CPD Group in Brighton September 2013

An Enquiry into Authentic Presence

A fortnightly group for counsellors and psychotherapists starting Brighton

September 2013

This group is an opportunity to explore all aspects of presence and authenticity from the context of a transpersonal perspective.

Points of enquiry will include:

How can we distinguish between autheniticy and impulsivity?

How is our presence experienced by others?

What are the signs and sense of presence?

How can we be present to ourselves?

What is the connection between awareness and the state of presence?

How can we recognise authentic being in ourselves and others?

What are the obstacles to presence?

How do presence and authenticity permeate being and doing, stillness and movement?

This will be a small intimate group (maximum six participants)which will offer both support and challenge to participants. The purpose of the group is to give space to our enquiry into all aspects and arenas for presence and authenticity. Each meeting will have a loose structure in order to give space for whatever needs to be present. This may include: meditation, awareness practice, guided imagery, focusing, client work, personal issues, group dynamics or whatever facilitates an experience of presence and authenticity in us and with our clients.

The group will run for two and a half hours fortnightly on a Saturday for eight sessions from 10.30am to 1pm. It is suitable for practitioners who come from a transpersonal perspective or who are interested in learning more about these issues from a transpersonal context.

CPD certificates will be given for attendance. Attendance to all meetings in encouraged.

Cost for the eight sessions if £300 if paid in advance or four installments of £80.
